A brief introduction to The Bible Unthumped, a podcast that will explain, in brief episodes, the many differences between the Bible you were probably told about and the Bible the scholars continue to reveal. Just what is this very important book, and where did it come from? You're invited to stop thumping the Bible and to start learning more about it.
Hey there. I want to let you know about a new podcast that’ll be about the Bible. I know, there are so many Christian podcasts already, you think. But, this one will be a bit different. This podcast, called The Bible Unthumped, will help you understand the story of the scriptures in a way that is probably very different from the way you’ve learned it in church.
Have you ever felt like your good questions about the Bible didn’t get good answers? Were you ever taught to just believe what you read and to not ask questions in the first place? Have you wondered if maybe the Bible isn’t quite as heaven-sent as you’ve been told?
The Bible Unthumped will deliver quick episodes—roughly ten minutes each—that offer the stories behind the Bible stories. You’ll learn where this book came from—who wrote it, who put it together, and how it came to be so central to the faith of so many Christians. Maybe you’ve spent a lot of time studying what the Bible says but still have no idea what this book really is.
I’m David K, your host for this new podcast, and I think the Bible is fascinating. But, there is a disconnect between what today’s scholars know about the Bible and what most Bible-believers have ever heard about it before. I am not a scholar, myself, but I hope to share with you some really interesting information that might change the way you think about this really important book.
This podcast will encourage listeners to stop thumping the Bible and to start understanding it. I hope you’ll really enjoy it. Subscribe here, and the first episodes of The Bible Unthumped will be along shortly.
